The prestigious cabeleNet Expo-201 began today at Hitex exhibition center at Hyderabad today. The Minister for Excise, prohibition, tourism, youth affairs and sports has formally inaugurated the exhibition. The Local Cable Operators (LCOs), Broadband operators and the Multi System Operators (MSOs) from various states have thronged the country’s 3rd largest television technology expo since morning. More than 175 exhibitors participated and exhibited their products, both hardware and software. They include Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Distributors and retailers. Playout software, Middle ware, EPG, cable billing software, splicing machines, coaxial and OFC have been displayed apart from IPTV, OTT and digital television vendors. Majority of the stalls are occupied by the broadband technology related vendors, both technology related products and the franchisee-offering service providers. This trend is conspicuous this time. The playout software useful for the channels run by LCOs are also prominently displayed at the venue. The OTT and Digital TV platforms are also seen explaining the functioning of their android set top boxes. Since there are many technological developments during the past two years after the earlier expo, today’s exhibition attained importance. The cable industry, known for enhancing the infrastructure from time to time, has concentrated more on the FTTH in view of its focus on the growing demand for internet. After broadband, prominently seen are the IPTV and OTT platforms. Tomorrow (28th August) being the second day of the expo, is expecting a very huge number of footfalls. Moreover, crucial seminars are also being conducted from11 am to 5pm tomorrow at the expo venue. Visitors may attend any of the sessions they are interested in. The topics include future technology, OTT platforms, distribution of Broadband, Digital TV etc. The seminars will also have question-answer sessions at the end of each session.
