Govt. of India blocks 43 Chinese apps

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, today issued an order under section 69A of the Information Technology Act, blocking access to 43 Chinese mobile apps. The action was taken based on inputs that these apps were engaging in activities prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued an order to block access to these apps by users in India, based on comprehensive reports received from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, Ministry of Home Affairs.
Earlier on June 29 this year, the Government had blocked access to 59 mobile apps and on September 2, 118 more apps were banned under section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The Government said it is committed to protect the interests of citizens and sovereignty and the integrity of India on all fronts and it will take all possible steps to ensure that.
List of the apps that have been banned include AliSuppliers Mobile App, Alibaba Workbench, Snack Video, CamCard – Business Card Reader, Chinese Social – Free Online Dating Video App & Chat. Date in Asia – Dating & Chat For Asian Singles, WeDate-Dating App, Free dating app-Singol, start your date! Etc.,
