Local Cable Operators of Indore, Bhopal and Ujjain deplored the JIO’s highhandedness in capturing the business against agreements. Operators from these cities have gathered at Bhopal and organized dharna in protest against the alleged illegal and unethical practices of JIO to eliminate the Local cable Operators from the business.

Jio has already announced cheapest tariff to attract customers and to eliminate the existing cable operators. LCOs are seriously worried about this claiming that it is a temporary pricing leading to monopoly in the business. On the other hand, the JIO staff have started cutting the cables laid by LCOs to prove that their services are not up to the mark.

Mr. Ansar Ahmed, Founder, Madhya Pradesh canle Operators’ Association alleged that the JIO people are resorting to goondagiri and threatening the LCOs. On the other hand, they are cutting cables everywhere to paralyse the cable tv services. “In fact, JIO has entered into agreements with the LCOs for doing business jointly. Now it is cutting cables and laying its own cable to go ahead on its own. It is illegal and unethical”
Mr. Balakrishna Tiwari, President, Madhya Pradesh cable Operators’

Association has given an ultimatum The LCOs have given an ultimatum to JIO to stop all such practices and threatened it of dire consequences including conducting agitations throughout the nation. He also said that the Association would challenge it in the court of law since it is violating its own agreement s with LCOs.
Former minister Mr. PC Sharma who visited the dharna site has expressed his solidarity with the cable operators and assured to take up their issue at the relevant forums.
