The Appointments Committee of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has appointed Sri PD Waghela, IAS., as the Chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). He is a 1988 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre and is presently working in the Dept. of Pharmaceuticals as Secretary.
He succeeds Mr. Ram Sevak Sharma who is retiring on 30th Sept. Mr. Waghela will be in his new assignment as Chairman, TRAI for a period of three years or until attaining 65 years of age or until further orders.
