The Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) has notified revision of pole rental charges for cable television operators effective 10th Feb.2022. The order issued on 9th Feb has been signed by the Chairman & Managing Director of APEPDCL, Visakhapatnam.
As per the order, the Local Cable Operators (LCOs) have to pay the revised pole rental charges along with GST. As per the Order, Cable Operators in Municipal Corporation / District headquarter are required to pay Rs.100 per pole per month. While those in other Municipalities and Mandal headquarters are asked to pay Rs.75 per pole per month, those in rural areas have to pay Rs,50 per pole per month.
These charges are collected on a monthly basis. There will be penalty of 18% in the name of surcharge for late payments and GST is also added to it. In case the charges are not paid within 2 months, the service will be disconnected.
Though the Order says these rates are applicable for 3 years, it reserves the right to review every year. It also mentions that agreements shall be done at the Division level if the area is covered under one Division and at Circle level if the area is under two divisions.
