The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) that measures the viewership of television channels have come out with its latest data for the week ending 18th June, 2021. While Star Plus and Sun TV got the first two places, Star Maa has successfully moved up the ladder to garner the 3rd position.
BARC has recently made certain changes in the publication of data to make it more comprehensive. It has stopped publication of the programming ranks. However, the data is distributed only among the subscribers for their internal consumption. It has also classified the markets in such a way that each language markets get their relevant data.
At the national level, the top 10 channels are announced and among them , Sun TV (Tamil) and Star Maa (Telugu) got the 2nd and 3rd ranks while Star Vijay (Tamil) and Zee Telugu (Telugu) got the 7th and 9th ranks. Thus, Telugu and \ Tamil channels could get 2 places each in the top 10 list.
