Here is an app that helps Local cable Operators to enhance their revenues. Named as “Just Local”, this has been created a former cable personality who has later entered into software development. Combing his cable television experience with his software knowledge, Mr. Shiva Shankar has created this app with a view to bridge the gap between the farmers and the consumers where the Local Cable Operator will play a key role and earn his share of revenue.
Mr. Shiva Shankar started his career as a cable operator way back in 1992 and later went on to become a JV partner with Citi cable. After serving in the cable industry as Citi’s JV partner for about 12 years, he has moved to the software sector. Now that the cable television industry is financially down due to digitization, Mr. Shiva Shankar felt the need of empowering the LCOs where they can use their own power at the ground level.
While many corporate companies have entered into grocery business and making huge profits, Mr. Shiva Shankar felt that it would be apt to enter into this business so that the LCOs may be provided with an opportunity to use their capabilities for earning additional money. The LCOs on the other hand will gain the trust and loyalty of their customers so that they continue to remain with them.
The soon to be launched “Just Local” App will have a pan-India presence and it helps farmers, customers and the LCOs. The LCIOs are not required to invest in this business and are eligible for revenues on whatever they distribute through the app. “The Company has already entered into agreements with farmers who produce in bulk. After due processes like grading and packing, these products will be made available for distribution” said Mr. Shiva Shankar.
With a view to introduce and familiarize his app, Mr. Shiva Shankar today met Mr. Subhash Reddy, Managing Director, Brightway Communications, one of the largest MSOs in Telangana and explained about the concept. Mr. Reddy has congratulated him and appreciated the initiative saying that anything helpful to LCOs is always a welcome move. He offered to cooperate in the efforts of Mr. Shiva Shankar.
