During the past two months (August and September), the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Has permitted 15 Digital MSOs all over the country. Among them, Telangana leads with 4 permissions followed by Gujarat with 3 and Uttara Pradesh with 2. The states of Punjab, West Bengal, Tripura, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra got one each.
It is pertinent to note that all the 4 Telangana MSOs who got permission are from Hyderabad city. They include Globe Digital media Pvt Ltd of Attapur (Rajendra Nagar), Pioneer Digital TV (HiTec City, Madhapur), Vayu Media ( a Limited Liability Partnership firm) from Balajinagar (Kukatpally) and Kuamr Broadband Services Pvt Ltd of Vijayanagar colony.
These permissions are for operating all over India and are valid for a period of 10 years from the date of issue.
