M, Subhash Reddy, Managing Director, Bright and President, Telangana MSOs Association has appealed to the Cable operator fraternity to be cautious during the pandemic and has guided them for a bright future in an open letter. The letter is being published for the sake of the readers of our portal www.cablesamacharam.com
Dear Cable Operator Friends!
It is very heartening to address you during these testing times of the corona pandemic. While it is learned that this second wave has become even more dangerous and the news that our operator friends are losing lives is shocking us all. Our subscribers know how great the services we provide are. Whether the government declares or not, the services we provide are certainly ‘essential. Even if the government does not officially recognize us as COVID Warriors, we continue to fulfill our responsibilities to our subscribers.
However, we must take seriously the fact that the brethren in our industry are also losing lives as this epidemic become stronger. .We must take care of ourselves. No matter how selfless services we provide, they should not be more than our life. We need to be responsible and accountable to our family. That is why it is necessary to take appropriate care and stand as an ideal for society. Now that everyone over the age of 18 has the opportunity to be vaccinated, it is imperative that everyone, including our staff, is vaccinated. Staff will be safer if they reduce the need to go door-to-door for the collection of cable bills. Let the transactions be digital rather than in cash. Staff must be accustomed and strictly monitored to ensure that the mask is worn and that social distance is maintained.
You are already aware that we have lost many of our friends in recent times. Our MSO friend Sri Kolla Kishore’s sister and CEO of Batukamma TV run from Kompally in Medchel- Malkajgiri district for more than eight years, Ms. Kalpana Garu has met sudden death due to Corona. Sangareddy Cable Operator Sri Katakam Srinivas, Brightway Anchor, and Senior Journalist Sri Manthena Lingaya Garu, Katakam Praveen, chief of Korutla Pavani Digital Communications, Sri Ramesh, Krishna Nagar Operator, Sangareddy District, Sadashivpet, Sangareddy District have died in recent times. We are in a situation where we can do nothing but pray for peace for their souls. Taking care of ourselves during these difficult situations is the only tribute we pay to them.

It’s time to move on. Let us find opportunities in problems. Let us pledge to follow Corona’s appropriate behavior. Let’s also focus carefully on growing our business. At a time when demand for broadband is on the rise again due to work-from-home, let’s use this revenue stream, which is only possible for the cable sector, and not for DTH. Let’s create awareness among the people and give them broadband connections without leaving any home, wherever there is a possibility of taking broadband. Let’s take advantage of this business opportunity. BSNL has already come up with several attractive schemes. Let’s try to benefit from the opportunity.
With best wishes.
Yours
Subhash Reddy
